Environment Test Chamber automation

Challenge

A customer conducting long-duration environmental testing faced significant challenges with manual chamber operation and data recording. Standard environmental chambers lacked computer-based control, automated test profiles, and continuous data logging, making extended testing labor-intensive and prone to manual errors.

PROLABS Solution

PROLABS developed a custom PC-based automation Software that seamlessly integrated with the existing environmental chamber using Modbus, RS-485, and RS-232 communication. The system enabled remote chamber control, programmable test profiles, automatic resume after interruptions, continuous temperature and humidity data acquisition, and automatic data storage in Excel format for long-term testing.

Results

The solution transformed the customer's testing process by reducing manual intervention, improving data accuracy, and enabling unattended operation for weeks or months. Automated data logging and reporting significantly reduced manpower while providing complete traceability of every test.
